WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Sept. 5, 2022) from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, featuring all the fallout from the Clash at the Castle pay-per-view (PPV) that went down this past Saturday in Cardiff, Wales.

Advertised for tonight: So far, just Bobby Lashley vs. The Miz in a Steel Cage match for the United States championship. However, there is much to get to from Clash at the Castle, such as Dominik Mysterio turning heel and betraying both Edge and his own father, Rey. Elsewhere, Bayley pinned Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in their six-woman tag team match and Seth Rollins beat Matt Riddle, which will likely be addressed. All that and a whole lot more!

Come right back here at 8 p.m. ET when the Raw live blog will kick off once the show starts on USA Network. It will be below this line here. Reminder: GIFs and pics allowed, but no links to illegal streams, please.

Riding down the freeway on my 750/4, I’m gonna get some action, gonna get some more. Wild Catz are we, Wild Catz, liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you folks.

The show opens with the intro video.

Edge makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He addresses Dominik Mysterio, saying he’s known him since his dad came to WWE when he was five years old and they used to sit in the cafeteria together pinging folks with pea shooters. When they run shows in San Diego, he stays with the Mysterios, and he and Rey would go get new tattoos.

Just last year he talked Dom down before his first match in front of a live audience, and he’s always felt like a nephew to him but clearly Dominik doesn’t feel the same way. And why, because of that accidental spear that night? He apologized, and his gut told him to take care of it but his heart told him he didn’t have to worry about Dom.

He didn’t come back to get between him and his dad, he came back to help against Judgment Day because they’re his fault. But after what Dominik did Saturday to him and to his dad, he knows Rey raised him better than that. They can hash it out however, but he’s a different beast entirely.

He’s looking at Dom like a WWE Superstar, and a man’s game pays a man’s price and he needs Mysterio to get down here right now, not for talking, but for an ass-beating.

He asks Edge to hear him out and he’s asking for an apology on his son’s behalf, and for Edge to please not do this. Edge says he loves him, but his son is old enough to drink, to drive, to wrestle, and old enough to stand for his actions. Rey nods grimly and Edge calls Dominik down again.

She tells them both to calm down because they got exactly what’s coming to them at Clash at the Castle. Edge thought he could replace Dominik like he didn’t matter, and Rey thought he could protect him like his little baby boy, but he’s not any more, because she saw the potential in him and made him into a man.

Enter Dominik, wearing all black with his hair slicked back (but alas, no purple eyeshadow)

Rey begs him to snap out of it and to make things right with Edge. Rhea tells him Dom isn’t listening to him anymore and he can’t keep fighting his battles for him. And Edge is past his time, because he can’t stop his Judgment Day.

They advance, and Rey sets his mic down and goes to meet them in the ramp. He asks Dom not to do this but his son doesn’t acknowledge him and won’t even look him in the eye. Damian Priest and Finn Balor jump Edge in the ring and he manages to fight them off at first but Dominik jumps into the fray and That Damned Numbers Game wins out!

Rey tries to make the save but Dom gets in his way and Ripley cheap shots him before throwing him into the steps! Priest takes Edge out with South of Heaven! Balor smashes his leg with a chair, Damian holds him in place... COUP DE GRACE PILLMANIZER!

Rey finally gets through but it’s too little, too late!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercal, we get footage from earlier today of Miz and Tommaso Ciampa arriving at the arena.

Miz once again refuses an interview about Dexter Lumis and says he’s moving on with his life and he’s focused on his title match with Bobby Lashley. Ciampa sees an upturned car and he and Miz investigate it briefly before moving on.

Garza and Woods to start, off the ropes, hip toss, leg trips, quick covers, Angel ducks a roundhouse kick, stalemate! Tearing the pants off, Garza tags Kofi in and he and Xavier shake hands, quick cover and everybody rushes the ring to break it up! To the floor, big dives and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Carrillo working Ford over, Gable tags in, Montez gets away and tags Dawkins in! House afire, big corkscrew uppercut on Chad, corkscrew Stinger splash, jumping kick, Drill Bit! Sidestep Garza, Kingston gets pounced out of the ring and into the crush!

Gable with a whip across, Angelo leapfrogs him and wipes everybody out with a tope con giro! Montez off the top, nobody home, Chaos Theory, he lands on his feet! Pounce into a German suplex, Otis breaks up the pin! A superkick from Garza sends Dozer packing, he and Montez end up working Woods over together, another tower of doom forming on the other side of the ring, everybody but Humberto down, moonsault, feet up, Gable German suplexes him on the bounce!

Dozovic with a 747 splash... KOFI KINGSTON MAKES THE SAVE AND WE GO TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Ford slams Dozovic, New Day moonsaults to the floor, Montez with a frog splash but Chad is legal and grabs an ankle lock... BRAUN STROWMAN IS HERE?!

He gets in the ring and stares Gable down and drops him with a lariat! Big right hand for Garza, a chokeslam for Humberto, he blasts Otis off the apron! Security rushes the ring and he powerbombs that guy! Calling for it, he hits the floor and freight trains around the ring! He slams Angelo Dawkins through the table!

The match goes to an unannounced no-contest.

Back from commercial, Braun is still throwing dudes around and finally leaves.

Aliyah and Nikki to start, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from the champ, ASH backs her into the corner, quick tag. Working her over while Damage CTRL watch backstage, tag to Rodriguez and she starts making some headway. Doudrop blocks a powerbomb, back heel trip, senton and a cover for two!

Aliyah & Raquel Rodriguez win by pinfall with the one-arm powerbomb from Rodriguez on Doudrop.

Rey Mysterio is interviewed backstage.

He says he can’t say much besides he loves his son and he needs to have a word with him in private. Judgment Day is trying to tear his life apart, poisoning his son’s mind and taking Edge out, but one thing is for sure, he’ll never put hands on his son, but no one deserves their ass handed to them more than Judgment Day, and he wants a one-on-one match against one of them tonight.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a press reel of reactions to Clash at the Castle.

Austin Theory makes his entrance, still nursing his jaw.

He gets on the mic and admits things didn’t go as planned on Saturday but Crown Jewel was an absolute success— just kidding, he knows the show was Clash at the Castle. He’s still the future undisputed champion as long as he holds the briefcase, and when he gets knocked down, he gets back up.

But that’s beside the point, because Roman Reigns is still champ and soon he’ll cash in the Money in the Bank contract. He gets angry at the crowd for making his jaw hurt and fights through the rest of his promo, hitting the same beats about being the uncrowned champion.

He taunts Theory about getting knocked out, KO’d if you will, and he just realized he got his first name back, so he can call him Austin! Hey Austin! He hates arrogant and delusional people more than anything else, and Theory won’t be the last delusional person he’ll have to deal with in WWE, but right now he’s at the top of the list.

He’s complaining about what Tyson Fury did, but he actually did Austin a favor, because if he had cashed in, Drew or Roman would have put him in the ground and lost the opportunity forever. Austin says he doesn’t know that and he feels bad for KO so he’s gonna let him be first in line for a shot once he wins the title.

Kev says he’s wrestled both Reigns and McIntyre and he knows for a fact that he can beat both of them, and the only reason Theory is in this ring with that contract is because he wasn’t in Money in the Bank himself. Furthermore, he might have once been the future of WWE, but not anymore, and any second now a referee is gonna come down so they can fight!

Owens running hot from the jump, cannonball in the corner and Theory crashes to the floor! Plancha follows and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Theory has Owens locked down in a reverse chinlock and dumps him to the floor! Following after him, Kev turns things around with some strikes on the floor, back inside, short-arm lariat into a senton, only two! Austin with a rolling thunder dropkick for two, rear chinlock follows it up to grind Owens down.

Shift to a half nelson chinlock, Kev out of it, whip across, lariats, whip blocked but he bounces off the apron and lands a slammer of a lariat that sends Theory to the floor! Senton atomico to the floor... THE KNEES ARE UP AND WE GO TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, KO knocks him down, senton atomico... SO CLOSE! Stunner blocked, up top, Theory gets under him, spin-out Argentine powerbomb... NOPE! Fireman’s carry, Kev slips out, Austin breaks a waistlock with back elbows but runs right into a superkick!

Off the ropes, float over the powerbomb, boot up and he posts Owens! To the floor, slamming KO into the steel steps! Owens beats the count, cross-leg brainbuster over the knee connects but can’t keep Kev down! Back up top, jockeying for position, avalanche fisherman buster!

Throwing Austin off the ropes, pop-up powerbomb, kick to the gut...

Kevin Owens wins by pinfall with the Stunner.

Tommaso Ciampa and the Miz are backstage prepping for his match when an interview rolls up.

Again he protests that he doesn’t want to talk about Dexter Lumis but he’s actually asked about his match tonight.

Tom answers for him, saying that Mike knows that one-on-one he’s better than Bobby Lashley. Miz says he’s the only two-time grand slam champion in this company, and tonight, without distractions, nothing will stop him from climbing over Lashley’s limp body and walking out of the cage as champion.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a hype reel and recap video about Clash at the Castle.

Damage CTRL is shown walking backstage past Nikki ASH and Doudrop arguing to send us to break.

We see a local sporting team in the crowd.

A video package celebrating a medal of honor recipient follows.

Damage CTRL make their entrance and get on the mic.

Bayley crows about winning at Clash at the Castle, and Dakota Kai says imagine what they’ll do to the rest of the women’s roster? IYO SKY says some stuff in Japanese before saying next week they’re gonna take the tag titles. Kai points out that she wasn’t legal when she was pinned last week, and they’ll take what’s rightfully theirs.

She crows about being the first to pin Belair in 300-some days—

She wants to run it back in a singles right here tonight, but Bayley says it’s Labor Day and she’s not working, they’re just here to celebrate their victory. Bianca points out it took all three of them to take her down, and she might have her little minions, but Belair has the title.

And until Bayley has the title, she’ll be in control of nothing. Damage CTRL surround her, Bayley tells her to relax and they leave peacefully. Bayley says she doesn’t have anything else to prove, and she’s still the same Bianca Belair trying to play Ms. Perfect all the time.

She knows her fragile ego can’t handle this one little loss, so she’s gonna come after Bayley to try and prove that it’s a fluke. They could have ended her here and now but they have more important things to focus on, but don’t worry— if and when Bayley wants that title, she’ll get it one way or the other.

Rey Mysterio is shown walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of the main event of Clash at the Castle.

Johnny Gargano is interviewed backstage.

He says he appreciates Theory’s analogy but he’s been swimming with sharks his whole career and he still has some goals around here.

Austin rolls up to tell him nobody cares and says he’s been talking so much he might as well be Johnny Talking. Gargano says he’s actually 100% correct, but before he got interrupted he was going to announce his first match back for next week’s Raw.

A recap of our opening segment follows, because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

Mysterio rushes in, strikes in the corner, leg kicks and right hands, Priest meets him with a goozle, float over the chokeslam but Rey runs right into a big boot! Right hands, hammer whip, action to the floor and Damian brawls him around ringside. Back inside, boot up, right hand from Priest staggers him!

Whip across, sidestep and Damian takes the post hard! Mysterio with kicks and hammerfists, springboard crossbody into mounted punches! Hanging Rey up in the ropes, kick to the ribs, drawing him up, Mysterio manages a dropkick through the ropes! The rest of Judgment Day come down, the distraction costs Rey and we go to break.

Up top, Damian cuts him off with a right hand and climbs to meet him, fireman’s carry, Mysterio fights out... AVALANCHE FRANKENSTEINER CAN’T KEEP DAMIAN PRIEST DOWN! Reverse roundhouse from Priest, drawing Rey up, thinking Razor’s Edge... FRANKENSTEINER REVERSES! 619 BLOCKED BY DOMINIK ON THE APRON!

Rey fights Finn off and Damian clobbers him with a lariat! Goozle follows...

Damian Priest wins by pinfall with South of Heaven.

Post-match, Judgment Day surround Rey and Rhea Ripley gets on the mic.

She says now that Damian took Rey out, there’s just one man left in the way, and Dominik is going to send him into retirement, because what Papi wants, Papi gets. Next week, he’s gonna set up a one-on-one match against Edge.

Bobby Lashley is interviewed backstage.

He says Miz isn’t too intelligent and only wants to be locked inside the cage because he thinks it’ll keep him safe from Dexter Lumis, but he’ll be across from the most dangerous man in WWE, and he’s the only one the A-Lister should be afraid of.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of Braun Strowman’s return from earlier tonight.

Braun Strowman is interviewed backstage.

He says the monster of all monsters is back, nobody is safe, and he’ll see us on SmackDown.

We get a recap of Riddle/Rollins and website footage of Matt being interviewed after the match and saying he wants another match with Seth and he wants it as soon as possible, and matching footage of Jimmy Hart Seth responding to his request for a rematch in the negative.

We see Miz and Bobby Lashley walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Miz blindsides Lashley with a belt shot before the bell and he and Ciampa put boots to the All Mighty! They leave him laying and we go to break!

Back from commercial, match is in progress and Miz gets a nearfall off a big boot! The A-Lister climbs, Lashley pulls him down and drops him with a lariat! Miz comes back with kicks, buzzsaw finale, cover for two! Bob with a one-armed comeback, charging away, swinging neckbreaker, throwing the A-Lister into the steel!

Lying in wait, Miz tries to escape, Ciampa trying to pull him out but Lashley collects him and throws him into the cage wall again! Blocking the Hurt Lock by punching at the injured arm, Miz starts climbing again, Lashley climbs after him and pulls him down, smashing his face into the steel!

Tom attacks Bob through the cage with a steel chair, Miz hits a Busaiku Knee but Lashley kicks out and we go to break.

Lashley returns the favor but Miz gets up and whacks him with the door a bunch of times! The A-Lister climbs over the cage but hesitates because Dexter Lumis is laying on the floor directly under him! Miz climbs back inside to get away from him, Lashley is ready...

Bobby Lashley wins by pinfall with the spear to retain the WWE United States Championship.

Post-match, Dexter Lumis crawls in the cage, Miz tries to run away but Bob slams the door shut on him! Lumis puts him to sleep with the arm triangle!
