The Bed Is Overrated: Here Are 6 Types Of Furniture To Have Sex On Instead - xoNecole: Women's Interest, Love, Wellness, Beauty

There's a piece of sex furniture to suit pretty much anything you can think of.

There are plenty of places to have sex that can make things more exciting. The coffee table after a nightcap. The office desk after a long day of work. The couch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. But if you’ve ever smacked your head on the kitchen cabinet while getting frisky on the countertop (raises hand), then you know these locations leave something to be desired.

That’s where dedicated sex furniture comes in. This is furniture designed to make sex the best it can be, and I am here for it.

Whether you’re looking to spice up your cozy studio apartment or going all out and building yourself a sex room, there’s a piece of sex furniture to suit pretty much anything you can think of. So, let’s dive in!

There are so many reasons to invest in sex furniture. To spice things up, to achieve something that a bed just can’t provide, or to help with mobility issues. Apart from bringing something new into your play sessions, the best sex furniture makes certain positions easier and more pleasurable. In fact, some positions are only possible with sex furniture, so get ready to expand your repertoire!

These simple and non-intimidating sex aids are great for finding just the right position without putting strain on your body.

They usually come in wedge shapes and are great for missionary positions (vaginal or anal), doggy-style, and even cunnilingus. You can position the pillow under the receiving partner for easier access and more relaxing and pleasurable sex for everyone involved!

If you’re looking for a classy and discreet option, sex chaises and couches are the way to go. They’re designed to make new, exciting positions achievable in a way that a bed never could. Plus, they just look like fancy furniture, so your in-laws will be none the wiser!

Sex chairs, on the other hand, come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and purposes but are most often used for receiver-on-top positions. Some, also called sex stools or sex thrones, are wonderful for giving oral pleasure, with the giver positioned under the chair.

Sex swings are an amazing way to make gravity work for you rather than against you! Usually, the receiving partner will be suspended in the air while the giving partner swings them back and forth instead of thrusting, but you can have two people jump in too!

This is especially great for people with mobility issues since it puts far less strain on your muscles and joints. Plus, it’s a fun way to explore your bodies in ways you never could on a bed!

Don’t worry if you don’t have the option of a permanent installation. There are door-mounted options, as well as free-standing frames that can be packed away when you’ve had your fun!

You can think of a sex ramp as a full-body version of a sex pillow. It’s designed to support your whole upper body and take all the strain out of sex so you can get down to what’s really important - enjoying yourselves!

A sex bench is pretty much what would happen if a massage table were designed by a kinkster. They’re intended for BDSM play and are usually designed with bondage and spanking in mind, so strap in and enjoy the ride!

Sex furniture isn’t only for couples! If you've got yourself a dildo and want to make your solo play even better (or want to put on a show for your partner), a sex toy mount could be just the thing. They’re designed to hold a dildo or vibrator in place while you climb on and ride to your heart’s content.

If a sex toy mount doesn’t quite do the trick, a sex machine almost certainly will! These machines simulate the thrusting of penetrative sex. Just attach your favorite dildo and let the machine do the work!

You can adjust the speed and stroke length, and some models even have dual attachment points, so you and your partner can enjoy it together!

If you’ve ever been bored in the bedroom, wished you could try that one exciting position, or wanted sex just to be easier, sex furniture could very well be the answer.

There’s so much to explore and so much to gain. And once you dive in, you’ll never look at a chaise lounge the same way again!

In season two of the hit drama series, P-Valley, we watched in awe as Mercedes (Brandee Evans) effortlessly glided up and down the pole, showing off her ultra-sexy dance moves in the privacy of her client’s home – dubbing it as the “Mercedes Experience.” If you’ve ever explored the idea of surprising your partner with a lap dance but cringed at the thought of embarrassing yourself, we’re here to help.

The good news is, you don’t have to be a pro to pull off a few sensual moves for your partner – you don’t even need a pole! If you’re interested in recreating a sexy moment from The Pynk or just looking to 'drop it like a thotty' for a lucky someone, we’ve talked to Zippora, a pole dance fitness instructor and personal trainer, for helpful tips on how to unleash your inner performer.

With over 10 years of experience, Zippora has performed stunt double work as Mercedes on the P-Valley pilot and as Anika Noni Rose’s character in BET’s The Quad. She’s also appeared in the music videos of Lil’ Baby and August Alsina, and has performed with Latto and Snoop Dogg. Keep reading for her pro tips on how to give a sexy lap dance to your partner.

“You want your partner to be relaxed and ready to consume all of what your performance has to offer, so setting the mood for them will be a great way to help put them in that headspace. Try to cater to as many senses as possible. You can try dimming the lights and lighting scented candles,” Zippora explained.

“If they love massages, you could gently stroke a part of their body as you guide them to the location of your performance. You could also provide sweet treats and a beverage for them to graze on while you are getting ready. Remember, you are the mood so whatever you choose to create the ambiance, these are all mere accessories to help enhance your special moment.”

“The music will set the tone for your performance, so understanding what feeling you are looking to evoke and what level of energy you would like to bring is necessary in pulling your performance together,” Zippora said. “You also want to play with songs and rhythms that you find your body moves easiest to. Both an up-tempo and a slower cadence could work well, as long as it feels natural to your body. Some of my favorite artists who are setting the mood for me right now are Azee, Tanerélle, Giveon, Olafur Arnalds, dvsn, Sabrina Claudio, and the song 'SMTS' by Jeremih.”

“Stretching plays an integral part in your performance because it allows your body to move at its fullest potential once it’s warm and loose. Dynamic stretches and movements are best to get the muscles warm and agile. Try to pay close attention to your shoulders for a variety of arm extensions, shoulder rolls, or any lifting you may include in your show,” Zippora described.

“Your waist and back are a dynamic duo that must have an honorable mention in warming up your body. Stretching these two areas will be key to bringing your upper half and lower half of your body together working in unison. After that, stretching your legs will give you the support you need to entice your viewer. Remember to keep your core engaged throughout the entire movement. Your body will thank you for this later while you’re giving all the energy in your performance.”

“Choose something that accentuates your most desirable assets while also wearing something that you feel comfortable and confident in. An option could be eight-inch heels with an oversized t-shirt and a thong so that you can put those legs and glutes on display. Or you could try a revealing strappy bondage bodysuit with coordinating foot straps that allow you to flex your curvy silhouette while dominating and taming the moment,” Zippora said.

“Your body is a work of art that you are putting on display, so think of each sway of a curve, each point of an extension, each body roll, and every strut and pirouette as a brush stroke. Paint the picture of the story you are trying to convey to your viewer. Standing and facing your partner with arms extended overhead, for example, while rolling your hips then quick-turning your back to them following a deep bend over is a great way to get their attention and begin your expressively seductive story," Zippora explained.

She continued, "Opening your legs with pointed toes for a full spread and gently alternating bending each knee can make your performance more dynamic. However, you decide to create your choreography, move your body in a way that makes you feel sexy so choose movements that appear effortless, that visually give you the air of strength and makes you appear the most tantalizing.”

“The most important thing is to have fun. Try not to take yourself too seriously as this experience should be enjoyable without any stress. Be mindful of your breathing to relax your mind and body. The more relaxed you are, the more free and confident you will feel to truly be you,” Zippora noted.

“With regards to your partner, try to make the moment interactive to help sustain the engagement by giving your partner queues of when and where to look and touch. Knowing your partner is completely present and attentive, will provide you the strength and boldness to easily beguile and command the mood with indelible confidence.”

Sometimes we think that if we had no expectations, lowered our standards, suppressed our feelings, or didn't express our needs, our relationships would be easier to manage. It would make it impossible for people to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or annoyed with us. Ultimately, they wouldn't leave, and we'd never feel the pain of abandonment.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

By lowering our expectations and hiding our needs, we abandon ourselves and the things we need to feel safe in relationships with other people. There have been times I've told friends, "I don't ask for much. I don't require much. Why isn't this working?" Over time I realized it wasn't working because I wasn't being authentic. I wasn't being honest about what I needed to make the relationship work. I was playing myself. And why should I be rewarded for that?

Why should any of us be rewarded for playing ourselves?

If we're going to feel fulfilled in our relationships, we have to give ourselves permission to do the following:

Attempting to gain acceptance by hiding who we are and taking on a persona we think people would like more causes us to feel unseen, unloved, and lonely. We start to feel like we're not good enough and that we'll never be loved. To build lasting relationships, we must be honest about who we are and what we need. Finding the courage to be honest about who we are is scary, especially if we've experienced rejection in the past.

It's natural to want to protect ourselves from that pain by hiding who we are. But we owe it to ourselves to heal so we can experience freedom in our relationships and feel at peace. If you find yourself questioning what you need to do and who you need to be to make your relationship work or gain someone’s attention, it may be time to reflect on your desire to be in the relationship.

How different would life be if we waited for what we really wanted? Sometimes we force ourselves to bend and contort to fit in spaces we don't belong because we feel like the relationship is the best we can do. We feel uncomfortable being alone or fear that we're running out of time as we watch our peers partner and get married. Fear takes over, and we feel pressured to settle.

Making decisions out of fear often leads to unfulfillment because we risk over-compromising on things that matter most. We have to find the courage to honor ourselves and our values even when we're scared, even if that means walking away and continuing to wait for what we want and deserve.

When you're settling for less than you deserve, you may also find yourself justifying your decision to remain committed to the relationship. Statements like, "I know people who are dealing with worse" and "Nobody is perfect" cause us to stay in places far longer than we need to. They also help us deal with feeling ashamed and embarrassed about our situation. Anyone that raises concern is promptly shut down because we don't want to deal with the feelings and concerns we've become accustomed to denying.

We start looking for any small sign that our discomfort is worth it; if we practice patience, things will get better. But when we're honoring ourselves in our relationships, we won't need to justify our decision to stay to ourselves or the people who love us.

When we're operating from a basis of self-love and high self-esteem, we're less likely to settle than we deserve. When we don't think highly of ourselves, we may question if we deserve to have the relationship and love we desire. We'll question our worthiness, choose people who aren't suitable for us, and force ourselves to stay.

Sometimes when we lower our standards to remain in a relationship, we feel our partner should express gratitude by giving us the things we desire. Like, "Look how great I am. You should want to be different or be better so you can stay in a relationship with me." Our ego gets the better of us, and instead of leaving we demand that someone else change to make us more comfortable in the relationship. No one wakes up and spontaneously combusts into a new person; if they do, they've likely been motivated to change for themselves, not for someone else. When we maintain our position in the relationship and complain to anyone who will listen about our unhappiness, we further frustrate ourselves. Complaining may make us feel in control because we can offload heavy feelings, but we aren't doing the work to build long-term fulfillment.

Most importantly, we can't convince someone we're worthy of things as we desire if we continue to tolerate and make space for the treatment we claim to be better than. At a certain point, who are we trying to convince? Them or ourselves?

When we accept someone for who they are, we also accept that they may not be the person for us. We won't be able to be in healthy relationships with everyone we like or love, and that's okay. "You can love someone and not be compatible with them." Instead of searching for a solution based on either of you changing yourselves to make it work, it may be time to move on. Letting go isn't easy, but one of the ways we practice love in action is by making space for ourselves and others to be in community and partnership with people they can be their authentic selves with.

Abandoning ourselves for love and settling for less than we deserve causes us to end up in unhappy and unfulfilling relationships. We become disconnected from our partners and ourselves, and we miss out on the chance to experience deeper love and connection; we miss out on the opportunity to create something special. Waiting for the relationship and love we deserve can make us feel anxious, but it's always worth it. It's the only way to find lasting happiness and fulfillment.

So don't be afraid to reject or let go of things that don't serve you. You're worth it.

Saweetie is the latest guest on Yung Miami’s Revolt podcast Caresha Please and the City Girls rapper proved why folks are dubbing her the new Oprah. Miami got the Grammy award-winning artist to spill the tea on her personal life including her former relationship with Quavo. Saweetie has been pretty mum about her breakup with the Migos rapper sans her announcing their split on Twitter in March 2021. But during the interview, the Bay-Area beauty revealed that she was “hurt” by it.

“Last year was hard for me. I lost someone who I loved,” Saweetie started. “When you think someone is your soulmate and you don’t end up with them, it’s hard. A lot of people thought I was just having fun, and the single life but I was hurt. I really loved him and I was just doing a lot of soul-searching.”

She added, “My problem is I be thinking about 10 years from now and we’re gonna have this, this and that, so when that don’t happen, I be like, my dreams be like shattered.”

The “My Type” artist and Quavo began dating in 2018 after he slid into her Instagram DMs. The couple seemed to have a picture-perfect relationship. They appeared on multiple red carpets together and even collaborated on songs. But they did endure some hardships including a cheating scandal. When Miami asked if the “Hotel Lobby” rapper cheated on her, she kept it cute and said, "I think the past is the past and I've moved on since then."

She delved further into her past with Quavo later on in the interview and shared that she thought the ATL native was the one.

“I think we had a lot of growing pains together,” Saweetie said after Miami asked whether she thought their relationship was toxic.

“I thought we was gon’ spend the rest of our lives together. With him, I just knew it was the one. It was different.”

She cited their “differences” as the reason for their split but doesn’t seem to regret their time together.

“I was just hella enthralled with who he was as a human. Even if he wasn’t a rapper, I would of still been in love with him,” Saweetie said.

While the “Back to the Streets” rhymer and Quavo may not rekindle their relationship anytime soon, she admitted that she learned a lot from being with him and shared how it helped her develop into a woman.

“Honestly, I think I learned how to be a woman because the way I was raised, I was raised in a really tough environment. Both of my parents was tough but since I was in love, I was like it’s time for me to step it up as a woman.”

While she’s now living a single life, Saweetie is continuing to grow and flourish as an artist and is looking forward to sharing her progress with the world with her upcoming album Pretty B–ch Music and she is also dating.

Tamron Hall is back for a new season of her self-titled talk show and she showed off a new look. The fourth season of The Tamron Hall Show debuted this week and the Emmy award-winning talk show host surprised everyone when she walked onto the set with a blond ‘do. The mother of one has often worn her hair in a darker hue and during her show opening, she explained why she decided to switch it up.

“It’s a new ‘do but the same me,” she said. “I’ve always had this dream of coloring my hair but I’ve been a journalist for 30 years – an anchor for much of that — and they would always tell you don’t change your hair color, it’ll throw the audience off.”

She continued, “Well, those folks are not in charge. The Tam Fam (which she affectionately calls her viewers) is in charge and y’all knew you would be okay with my new look.”

The premiere episode was called the “Golden Hour” in which she explained, “that time of day just before the sunset where we are illuminated inside and out together, where we laugh, discover, become inspired, learn to overcome challenges, and live our lives like they are golden.”

Tamron also shared stills from the episode on social media and captioned it “Golden Hour ⭐️” while tagging her “Glam Squad” which included the celebrity hairstylist responsible for her new look, Johnny Wright.

Johnny has worked with some of the biggest names in the world such as former first lady Michelle Obama, Queen Latifah, Kerry Washington, and more.

And while they say blondes have more fun, Tamron is as serious as ever when it comes to her work this season. This week, she interviewed the cast of P-Valley, the parents of the Uvalde, Texas shooting, and a Broadway hopeful who is living with sickle cell.

Your Moon sign in Astrology represents how you nurture yourself and your life. Your Moon sign and what the Moon is doing in your birth chart represents your emotional world, how you handle your emotions, love, your relationship with your mother and women in general, and is also the area of your chart that is not noticed right away by others as it is a more hidden aspect of your personality and your life. Connecting with your Moon sign and understanding this energy better can do wonders for your life, and when it comes to acts of nourishment. After all, in the words of the Sagittarius Moon Queen herself, Lauryn Hill, “How you gon’ win, when you ain't right within?”

Acts of nourishment are different for everyone and each sign has a different mode of attaining this energy in their life. A Mercury-ruled Moon sign such as a Virgo or Gemini Moon needs more of a mental release to feel nourished. These Moon signs tend to be more in their head than their heart, and finding ways to understand their emotional world is key to healing it. However, an emotional water Moon sign like a Scorpio or Pisces Moon needs to find ways to release their heavy emotions and connect more with reality and beauty that is around them.

Your Moon sign is where you want to go when understanding your emotions and how you work through them. If you have ever wondered why someone acted the way they did emotionally when you handle things in a completely different way, look at your Moon signs and their compatibility. Someone’s love language and experience of nourishment may be completely different than your own and there is no one way of nourishing yourself and your life.

By diving deep into the different Moon signs in Astrology, you can discover what self-care and nourishing acts benefit and support you most.

With an Aries Moon, exercise is a great way to regulate and nourish your emotional world. When you can get out of the house, do something exciting, and get your body moving, you feel like a completely new person. With an Aries Moon, activity is important for you so that your emotions don’t feel bottled up and ready to burst at any moment. You have a lot of emotional energy within you and need to find ways to release it. Having a daily routine, ritual, or physical exercise that lets you decompress and open up, does wonder for your heart.

Having a Taurus Moon means nourishment, comfort, and safety are very important to you in life. To nourish yourself, you need to be feeling good from within to without. Things like self-care days, spa days, and taking the time out to treat yourself does wonders for you emotionally. To feel nourished in life, you need to be around the people that help you get there and if you are not in supportive or safe environments, you aren’t going to be feeling good. For you, it’s all about spoiling yourself or allowing another person to treat you.

Meditation does wonders for the Gemini Moon's soul.

Gemini Moons are all about mental decompression when it comes to nourishment. Meditation does your soul wonders as it allows you to fully connect with what’s going on in your head, which is a direct correlation to your emotional world. Being a Gemini Moon, you aren’t the most emotional Moon sign out there but that doesn’t mean you don’t need nourishment and care just like everyone else. Meditation, sound baths, journaling your thoughts, or reading a book are all beneficial ways for you to nourish yourself that align with who you are and what you need.

Being a Cancer Moon, you are born with nourishing energy. Cancer is the perfect sign for the Moon to be in, as it is the ruler of Cancer and feels at home here. Nourishment means everything to you in life and if you aren’t feeling the nourishment in your life, it can manifest as some chaotic energy outwardly. For you, acts of nourishment involve being at home, in your safe spaces, and around family or close loved ones. You love to feel needed and valued, and being around people that provide this equal reciprocity makes you feel stable. Connect with a loved one to reconnect to what nourishment feels like for you.

A Leo Moon can paint or create art as a way to nourish themselves.

Being a creative and bold soul, nourishment for a Leo Moon is all about lighting that spark within you. When you are not feeling the nourishment in your life it is usually because you are not feeling seen or heard. For a Leo Moon, your emotions are front and center, and you want to be acknowledged for how you are feeling. Having creative outlets where you can express yourself and how you are feeling means everything to you, and self-expression is how you feel nourished. To tap into nourishing energy in your life, go have fun, dance, paint, create or admire art, and repeat some self-love rituals that remind you how loved you truly are.

A Virgo Moon is not for the faint of heart. Your energy flows mentally, which can get confusing with the Moon involved, as the Moon is all about your emotions and the heart. To feel nourished in your life, you need balance, release, and receptivity. Journaling your thoughts, writing daily gratitudes, meditation, and listening to soft music can help put you in a place of peace. Writing your thoughts is key for a Virgo Moon as it helps you see what you are truly feeling when your mind tends to get in the way of understanding your emotions as it loves to rationalize and organize. Meditate on it, Virgo Moon.

A clean space is a nourishing space for a Libra Moon.

As a Libra Moon, connection is something that makes you feel deeply nourished in life. You often see yourself in another, and you are somewhat of a mirror to others in life. You match the vibe of those around you which can be good if their vibe is positive, but not so good if someone is in a spiral around you. To nourish yourself, you need to assess your body and your emotional world and see if what you are feeling is truly yours, or the issues of someone else’s. For you, it’s important to cleanse your space and your body and protect your energy so that you can be in a clear space to feel the love and nourishment in your life.

With a Scorpio Moon, your energy and emotions are often heightened. You feel everything deeply and you need a trusting guide to help you understand everything that is going on within. Tapping into your higher self and receiving intuitive guidance is key for you to feel internally connected and at peace in your life. Pull a tarot card, look at what the stars are doing, or hire a trusted psychic or astrologer to help you reconnect to your spirituality. When you are feeling aligned spiritually, you feel good emotionally, and nourishment for you is about connecting to your inner guide.

A Sagittarius Moon wants to explore the world and connect with nature.

As a Sagittarius Moon, you are an adventurous soul. When you can explore the world around you, travel, and get out of your head, you feel aligned with what nourishment means to you. This is not to say that you should escape your emotions and not deal with them altogether, but going on a new adventure or journey with the intention that you are going to release, understand your emotions better, and connect with your inner self; you can make some significant progress on your journey. Go on a spiritual retreat, take that vacation you’ve been wanting to take, learn about a new culture or religion, and align with your spirit.

A Capricorn Moon needs a lot of nourishment in life, but you may never admit this to anyone. You prefer to handle emotional stuff in private, and you aren’t the one to necessarily let others know when you are hurting or need nourishment in your life. However, being vulnerable, asking for help, and allowing someone to help get you to a better place can be life-changing for you. Talking to a therapist, a friend, or even journaling your thoughts can be a place of deep nourishment for you. Being an earth Moon Sign, going out in nature, and doing grounding rituals are also highly beneficial for you and your energy.

Aquarius Moons are more in their head than they are in their heart. This isn’t a bad thing, but when it comes to understanding what it takes to feel nourished in your life, all of this mental energy can get in the way of healing and regulating your emotions. To bring in the nourishment in your life, it’s all about getting out of your head and into your heart. Take the time to listen to your emotions without judgment or attachment, to figure out what you need. Give yourself some time each day to tap into your emotional world and how your heart is doing, take intentional action when it comes to what it needs, and release the rest.

As a Pisces Moon, you understand emotions more than most. You are highly attuned to your heart and everything that is going on within. However, this energy can feel overwhelming for you at times if you don’t have positive ways to release and regulate here. For you, a sense of nostalgia brings you to a nourishing place in your life. Watching your favorite movie, reading your favorite book, creating art, and healing your inner child are all ways to feel nourished in your life. When emotions feel high and life is feeling like too much to handle, visualize yourself as a child, and ask yourself what you need right now.
