University of Wyoming’s Kristin Walker received a promotion Monday as she was elevated from Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator to Associate Head Coach of the swimming & diving program.

“Kristin has really made a significant impact on our team in nearly every way possible,” head coach Dave Denniston said. “She has an uncanny ability to make anyone around her feel confident and empowered. She’s made me a better head coach and in a lot of ways a better person.”

Walker has been with Wyoming for the past three seasons. In that time, she helped guide the Cowgirls finish in the top half at the Mountain West Conference Championships each year, while the Cowboys enjoyed a pair of third-place finishes and a fourth at the Western Athletic Conference Championships.

“For everything she has done for our team, she has earned the title Associate Head Coach,” Denniston said. “Athletes love visiting with her in the office and getting her coaching insights at the pool. This promotion was unanimously supported by the athletics department.

“Kristin is such a blessing to all of us.”
